Lettera del maestro Donato Renzetti

Born on February 9th, 1972, in Foggia, as a child he moved to Bologna where he began studying Music. He successfully graduated in Piano, Electro-Music, Jazz Music, Choral Music and Choral Conducting, Orchestral Conducting and Music Education. He got a degree from the University of Bologna (Faculty of D.A.M.S.), he has studied Composition and during that time he obtained the Diploma in Lyric Opera Conducting at Bologna’s Regia Accademia Filarmonica. He attended many specialization courses in Orchestral Conducting, among the others it is worth mentioning:

The “Post-graduate courses” of Conegliano Veneto (TV) in 1998, the “Second International Course “«Franco Ferrara»” in Como (1998/’99), Masterclass on La Traviata in Pescara under the direction of the Professor Donato Renzetti in summer 2007 and The three years Course of Conducting at the Pescara Music Academy directed by Professor Donato Renzetti.

In 2005 he is semi-finalist in the First Edition of “Luigi Mancinelli International Competition for Opera conductors” (Orvieto ) and in 2006 he is finalist in “The XIII edition of the European Competition for young Orchestra Conductors” organized by the Franco Capuana Foundation (Spoleto).

 

He has been carrying out a fervent concert activity as a pianist and as an orchestral and choral conductor, in Italy and abroad; his repertoire has ranged from the Symphonic and Chamber to Melodramma and Operetta, from the 18^ Century up to the present. He obtained great achievements, among the others, his performance of Beethoven 5th Symphony, The Three penny opera by Brecht-Weil, and above all, his performance of Madama Butterfly, Tosca, La Bohème (with the debut of Paolo Poli at the direction) and “Pagliacci” (with the young interpreters selected from the “Anselmo Colzani International Competition for Opera“ in Budrio where he was also one of the judge together with some celebrities of Bologna such as Gigliola Frazzoni, Renata Mattioli and the Tenor Carlo Bergonzi.

 

He worked for several years with “Compagnia d’Operetta Edipo” of Reggio Emilia.

He successfully conducted the Estense Orchestra in Ferrara with “Don Pasquale” by Donizetti and the Philarmonic Orchestra of Milan at the “Festival Mozart giovani” held at the Teatro delle Erbe in Milan.

In 2007 he founded the Simphonic Orchestra L’Offerta Musicale - OSLOM that he leads as the Conductor and Artistic Director in several concerts and music shows.

 

His activity as pianist is highly regarded, he works above all in Chamber Music and as piano accompanist of professional singers.

 

In addition to his activies of interpreter, he is involved in Music Education and Training, he is in the jury of Singing Competitions, teacher in various School of Music and responsible with the musical training for Opera Labs.

 

Careful to spread music, he is President and Founding Partner of ACLOM – Associazione Culturale L’Offerta Musicale and he is a collaborator of several cultural associations of Bologna. He is a Piano Teacher at the Secondary School (with Musical Projects).
